Meaningful work for me is a job where I create things or permanently solve problems.
For a customer facing role this would involve single point of contact problem resolution where I am given the tools and access needed to provide a fix for the root cause of the customers' problems instead of just band-aiding it and sending the job off to someone else "for investigation".
For a more behind the scenes role I would like to be involved in automation and process improvement, creating tools and refining processes so that the frontline staff can focus on actually resolving the customers' problems instead of wrestling with the systems they have to use.
I have extensive experience troubleshooting and problem solving a variety of technical issues in a customer facing environment, having done this for a total of 8 years; full time for 5 and part time for the past 3 while I study Chemical Engineering at the University of Adelaide.
Since late May 2016 I've been working my way through the Free Code Camp certification process and I'm about 150 hours away from getting my Front End Developer Certificate.
